He may play a tough guy on TV, but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is no match for his pint-sized mini-me when it comes to negotiating the time and place for a daddy makeover. The blockbuster megastar recently shared an adorable encounter with his three-year-old daughter Jasmine “Jazzy” Johnson on Instagram, detailing their sweet conversation – and bonus photo – as he tried to head out the door for work.
As he was just about to leave for the day, he asked Jazzy for a kiss goodbye. Unfortunately, his request was met with protest – but not the kind you would expect.
“But I have to paint your toes,” Jazzy replied, shrugging off his attempts to say farewell for now. With his shoes already on, Johnson stood firm.
“Nope, Daddy’s got his shoes on,” he said, reiterating that work was calling. Once more, he asked his curly-haired little lady for a kiss.
But to no avail. She had upped the ante.
“OK, then let me paint your face Daddy,” she insisted.
Now, this was getting ridiculous. There was no way … or was there? Johnson, despite the adorable nature of his daughter’s multiple requests, tried his best to stick to his guns.
“I gotta go to work,” he repeated. “Now get over here and kiss me.”
Nevertheless, she persisted.
“BUT DADDY, I need to paint your face for work,” Jazzy said, looking up at her dad with what Johnson described as her mom Lauren Hashian’s ‘intoxicating blue eyes’.
It was in that moment Johnson’s fate was sealed, it seemed, because the strongman’s final response came across a little less steadfast than before.
One may even say it was a complete and total concession.
“OK,” he said. “But make sure you choose manly colors that are flattering to my complexion.”
Alongside his story, Johnson shared a photo of the moments following the ‘dispute’. Jazzy, armed with a paintbrush and a face full of concentration, is captured giving her dad a rainbow-coloured makeover across his cheekbones, temple and nose. All the while, Johnson can be seen patiently sitting across from her, stoically staring ahead.
Of course, being the dad that he is, he wasn’t fooling anyone with his serious expression.
“As much as I tell her no, with my crazy busy life, this is the stuff I actually love,” he added to his caption, confirming what we already knew: he is definitely a candidate for dad of the year.
As for Jazzy – perhaps a future in the visual arts is in the works? We are certain she’d have her dad’s full support.
